McKinley Carter Sponsors Nonprofit Book Launch Event

Wheeling, WV – Wealth management firm McKinley Carter Wealth Services sponsored a book launch event celebrating Dr. Frederick A. Lambert’s recently published work “Being the Best: The Nonprofit Organization’s Guide to Total Quality” on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Wheeling Country Club from 8am-9am.

The breakfast event included a brief summary of the book, followed by a Q&A session as well as a complimentary signed copy of “Being the Best”.

“Designed as a practical guide for board members, chief executive and operating officers and program directors, “Being the Best” focuses on creating an organizational culture that excels rather than one that simply survives,” Lambert stated.

This event was the first for local nonprofit executives following the July 2013 re-launch of McKinley Carter’s Nonprofit Advisory Services division.

“Not only has Fred assisted McKinley Carter in some of its project work for nonprofits, he is also a great friend and mentor” Kathleen McDermott, Director of Nonprofit Advisory Services stated. “I have worked in the nonprofit sector and served on numerous nonprofit boards for over 20 years. Much of my success is attributed to the guidance and mentorship Fred provided to me.”

In her role, McDermott assists organizations in determining their most pressing needs and in partnership with staff and leadership, helps develop implementation strategies to help organizations build on their strengths and reach their financial goals.

“Fred’s book is a great guide for organizations wanting to succeed. He provides practical advice and strategies that are easily implemented. His book supports the services McKinley Carter believes are necessary for sustainability, such as governance, planning, leadership development as well as fundraising, finance and investments.”
